Capital Campaign
at $720,000.00
The Capital Campaign is continues to grow as the Pastoral Charges in
the Presbytery rise to the challenge of helping Camp Abby offer
quality camping and Christian education programs where Christ’s loving
presence is celebrated and shared in a safe, respectful, and loving
environment. Every dollar counts and every dollar helps us reach
the goal of raising one million dollars. Like the apostle Paul, let us
continue to run the race that is set before us, so children will come
to know God’s love extended to us in Jesus Christ through a camping
experience.
Camp Abegweit invites You to Come Help
Build the Dream of a New Future
The Board of Camp Abegweit would like to extend to you an invitation to
participate in a visioning day on April 21, 2007 at South Shore United
Church, Tryon.
The purpose of the day will be to gather your ideas, your dreams, the
visions you have about how the Camp might be developed. What
kinds of programs and activities would you like to see take place
at Camp Abby over the next 5, 10, 15, 25 years.
You are asked to bring a snack to share. Lunch and refreshments
will be provided. Plan to be at the church by 10:00 am and know
that you should be away from the church by 3:00 pm.
Our facilitator for the day will be Jim Blanchard from
Kensington. The Camp needs your ideas. Plan to come and
bring a friend. E-mail or phone Bob Lockhart for further details:
bob@spectrumsolutions.com
or 859-3207. It would be helpful to those planning if you would
let Bob if you will be attending.
Time to Register
for Camp
Camper Registration Forms are now available and campers may registrar
on line at
www.ucpei.isn.net/ or
you can download and print a copy of the form.
Our goals this year is to have 500 children enjoy a camping experience
at Camp Abby.
Posters and flyers will be available soon to be posted in churches,
Island schools, and public places where young people and parents
gather.
We need your help in promoting the Camp this year. Encourage the young
people you know to consider spending a week at Camp.
The Camping experience has time and again proven to be a transforming
experience for all those involved. Not every family has the funds
to send their child to camp so this year why not consider helping
sponsor a young person so they can go to camp. It is an
investment which will last a lifetime. Camp Abby has the lowest
rates in the Maritimes.
Kenneth Sanderson will be returning to Camp Abby this summer as
Director. Ken is an “old hand” around Camp Abby as a camper,
counselor and will come on staff as Director for the first time.
